Without getting into to many details, my husband will be going overseas for a year. Although my husband spent 6 years in the Navy, we never had an actual deployment. I guess now is that time. So over the next month I will be settling into a new schedule and a new routine. I feel a bit like this lately thinking about everything that needs to get done before he leaves.
I have to admit, I am very anxious. I have found when I am anxious I like to paint or work on a project. But, sadly I have had to put off my urge to pick up a paint brush. I need to be a bit more hands on with my children as they adjust to what is happening. They are young and their understanding and stress is coming out in some Mommy-intensive behaviors.
So, as much as I am itching and fighting the urge to do my decorating thing, I am having to hold off for the time being. And in the same breath, realize that with my husband gone for a year, I should be able to find time to get some of my projects done. And believe me my list is growing longer and longer, as is the list of up coming post-able projects is also growing. So stay tuned and see what happens.
On a side note...Because I have such a premium on time (not), I decided to start another smaller blog. This one is even more specific. It is basically on F. Scott Fitzgerald. I am only mentioning it in case you too have an interest. If you do stop by and take a look- here.

I'm so sorry to hear about your husband leaving. I know how hard it can be (I was a Navy wife for 6 years), but once they go and you get past the hard part of saying good bye, and stay busy it goes by really fast. You and your family are in my prayers!
ReplyDeleteThanks. I can see that we will get into a new groove. We are in the mini trial period. He went to Hawaii for 3 weeks and the kids have finally gotten adjusted. He comes home this weekend for about a week and then leaves for the year. It is hard in the evening, but I am confident that we will make it through. I have a great support system.
