Painted Lino Floor-temp fix to erase the ugly

So what to do when you have some remnants of the original construction, especially when the remnants look like this?
Sure, I can use press and stick tile.  I know they would be very reasonable considering how small the space is.  However, since the wall adjoining the space still looks like this...
I am not feeling inclined to spend any money on the space.  But I would like to neutralize it.

With a little bit of Gripper Primer, and a little bit of floor paint (both left over from a previous project) the ugly is gone.
The question is how long it will hold up.  I am not sure I really care what the answer is.  This solution is just to keep my eyes from bleeding for the time being.  I am hoping to have the hole in the wall fixed within the next year, so it doesn't need to hold for long.

  2. I know, it is just an easy temporary fix. Once the floors are done I can move on to the other things that need to be done. I guess I am working from the bottom up.
