Upon entering his room, you immediately run into the closet. I decided to paint all of the walls in a chalkboard paint base and then add constellations and the solar system.
I really had fun placing all the stars and mapping out the constellations.
When you open the closet you will see that I have altered an Ikea shelf to accommodate some of his toys. The other side is just hanging and folded clothing, I will spare you that image today.
If we go to the other side of his room, you will see his bed that I just painted. Have I told you how much I love the new paint on the bed? Really, I think it made a huge difference. Take a look at the before and After
The quilt on the bed is one my sister made for me last year. I really do love having things around me that has been crafted, especially by friends or family.
The wall color is Sherwin William Sleepy Blue (SW 6225) and the bed is Sherwin Williams Tempe Star (SW 6229). The dresser was one we had inherited. I painted it a simple white and added chalkboard to the flat drawer fronts. The kids love the chalkboard paint, so why not go ahead and use it.
For lighting I have paper lanterns in varying sizes, to add to the planetary feel of his room.
Since the beginning of the year the kids rooms have seen some changes. Initially, this room was our daughters and was purple, Behr Violet Bouquet (PMD-82) to be exact.
We then decided to switch the rooms for various reasons, and his room looked like this for a time before I was able to add the fun and pull it together.
You know, fun like this....
In general I think I will be keeping things as they are in his room, but who really knows what bug will crawl into my hinney and cause me to make changes.
Thanks for stopping in today.
