It is one of the few glimpses I have of how my Swedish family lived. A connection to the old country.
I wish I could say this painting is proudly displayed on my walls, but sadly, my brother also has a connection with this painting, so it graces his home instead.
The other day, I found a birdhouse that reminded me of the little rectangled houses of the painting. And since I cannot own the painting I thought I could paint the birdhouses to remind me of the painting.
Just a little reminder.
Now all I have to do is find the right tree, and hopefully, some little bird will enjoy a little slice of Sweden.

Beautiful picture! And I love the birdhouse too. :)
ReplyDeleteI found your website when I was looking for birdhouses. I actually just did a birdhouse just like yours.

But then I came across your really neat binder! I'm in the process of making it. Unfortunately, I didn't read the whole thing and just wrote down the stuff in what you need, so I didn't get anything to get the ribbon onto the fabric. I just used the adhesive spray to attach the ribbons to the handles, I'm not sure if it'll hold yet, I just did it. I'll have to go back to the store and get the last ingredient. :)
Anyhow, I'll post my completed project when I'm done.
My grandfather used to make beautiful hexagon shaped bird houses. I wish I could have learned before he passed away. Thanks for sharing. I am stopping by from the flock together blog hop. I am a new follower. Hope to see you at True Aim.
